If your business or organization has promotional items made like T-shirts, pens, pencils, and bumper stickers, be sure your web address is on them as well. It's like including a free brochure with every item you sell or give away. Another way to promote your site is to tell the world about it via print or other media. This is especially true if your site generates income. Like the old adage says: "You have to spend money to make money." Invest money back into your business with radio spots, car signs, newspaper ads, and advertising inserts in local mailers as appropriate. Any or all can be effective ways of getting the word out. A really low-tech and cost-effective way to advertise is to write letters to your friends, relatives and associates telling them about your site. Offer them a discount for mentioning your letter. They'll be glad you thought of them, and pleased to stop by for a visit. Step 12: Stats and all that >> | ||

While you're doing everything you can to attract visitors on-line, don't forget to promote your website offline. If you have a sign outside your business or organization, put your website address on it. Be sure to put your web address on everything that leaves your office from letterhead, to business cards, to brochures, to service programs, and so on.
