Promote your website online in other ways. Use the Internet to network with others online and draw attention to your site.
It's a big World Wide Web out there. As you visit other sites that are similar to yours, you may find opportunities to network with webmasters and site visitors. This is a great way to drive interest and traffic to your site. Consider these suggestions:
|
• Look for networking opportunities online.
• Let your URL be part of your online signature, everywhere you go.
|
|
- Contribute articles to be published on other sites. Your expertise on a topic, an observation, or even praise for the webmaster might be a welcome addition. Add your URL
to the end of the article or contribution.
-
Participate in discussion groups on related sites. Know anyone with a message board or chat room? Check them out and see what's happening with their site visitors. Join as a member of the message board and add your URL to your online signature. It will be attached to every post you make.
-
If you sell products or services through your website consider implementing an affiliate program where you pay a commission to other individuals and organizations that refer customers to your website.
-
Advertise on other sites. Banner ads, newsletter ads, even prominent links can be purchased fairly inexpensively if you shop around.
-
When you visit another website, sign the guestbook if they have one and include your URL for others to see. Don't simply visit as many sites as you can just to sign guestbooks, though. That's called guestbook spamming.
-
Add your URL to the signature tag of your email so that every email you send has your website address in it.
-
Set-up and use an email account @YourDomain.com. It's free publicity not only every time you send out an email, but every time someone sends you an email and every time you give your email address out to someone.
